At our upcoming event, speakers will address different facets of the electrical vehicle market.

Peder Norby, longtime electrical car user and expert in the fields of transportation, renewable energy and planning, will discuss energy and transportation developments and how San Diego is uniquely positioned to be a national leader in the field of electric vehicles.

Kevin O'Beirne, from SDG&E, will discuss some of the current obstacles and difficulties regarding the growth of the electrical vehicle market, including the increased demand of electricity, and how SDG&E is proposing to handle them.

Colin Santulli will provide an ‘EV 101’ as a basis for the rest of the evening, as well as discuss the state of the EV market in San Diego and California more broadly.

The number of electric vehicles on California roads is increasing. Most car brands have a hybrid or electric car in their portfolio. Numerous rebate programs reduce the cost of purchase and total cost of ownership. The number of plug-in points is increasing. The driving ranges are increasing. As the barriers are lowering, and the urgency to reduce greenhouse gases increases, will the number of electrical vehicles grow faster? And what will the implications be for you, and for San Diego?
