Join us for a series of short films that explain the value of Geographic Information System (GIS) maps. Learn how you can make a difference as a User and see how the SimCenter has been using GIS maps to advance the cause of Renewable Energy around the world.
Maps tell us a story about who we are. At a simple scale, they show us traffic jams and the best route to take on your vacation. Add data points and you can find theaters and restaurants like on Google Earth.
Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data, you can build layered maps that show geography, population density, energy resources, water systems - and hundreds of other important issues. These GIS maps help us better understand the region, and for our leaders to make more informed decisions.
Map making can be learned fairly quickly using ESRI software tools. Explore this useful software and how map-makers are showing us how to protect our world for future generations.
