Critical Thinking, An Essential Skill for Global Issues and the Emerging WRSC Knowledge Base - PMD Vol.01 #007

Critical Thinking, An Essential Skill for Global Issues and the Emerging WRSC Knowledge Base

Examples of the art and science can be found in many places on the Internet today.  (For example: http://austhink.com/critical/pages/teaching.html)

What caused this post was a presentation at a recent Libertopia, a convention of alternative thinkers, expecially in the political arena. Read more »

Networking for Sustainablity - PMD Vol.01 #006

What an incredible chance opportunity this afternoon (hmmm, does anything really happens by "chance"?)!   I had a conversation with a remarkable man who I have never met, from thousands of miles away, who is as committed to Sustainability as I am.

WOW, what an energetic uplifting conversation. As simple as putting our information out on the internet, having a 3rd party load it onto their site, this man finds it and wants to test our customer service, and I happen to be in the office working to recover my desktop email from a failed motherboard...

We talked for two hours and discovered our mutually shared passion about sustainability. He is working from the bottom up, while GENI is working from the top down.  I think this will be a heavenly match! Read more »

The Future of Education? - PMD Vol.01 #005

Here's a TED talk on the future of education:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gM95HHI4gLk&feature=player_embedded

How can we utilize this technology and visualizations from www.KahnAcademy.org in conjunction with the www.WRSC.org (World Resources Simulation Center)?

How would you use it in your program?

What's missing?

How would you compare it to other online training programs?

Are the teachers/coaches/mentors empowered and intrigued as well as the students?

I look forward to your comments and questions!

:) :)

How Do You Respond To Emergencies? - PMD Vol.01 #004

Recent earthquakes in Japan got me thinking about how we as humans respond to emergencies.

If there was a fire covering an entire city block near where you live, would you:

  • go watch other people help those in danger?
  • go help out any way that you could while the fire was raging?
  • volunteer at a local hospital to help the people with smoke inhalation, after the fire was out?
  • let the people we hire (firefighters) do that sort of thing, and pay them good money to handle it?
  • write a letter to your local news media outlet and rage about the lack of smoke detectors?

Now, think about how you felt when you answered the question.

Is that how you would respond if you knew that the world would end in: Read more »

Getting the word out about Money & You, Money & Me, and the Excellerated Business Schools' Programs - PMD Vol.01 #003

Since February, 1992 I have been singing the praises of Excellerated Business Schools' Money & You program.

That weekend changed my life and my direction forever.

Imagine waking up from a deep sleep and finding out that what you thought was real was only the doorway to a universe of much greater things...

Join me in Oceanside California this Saturday for the Money & Me program - help me and DC Cordova change the world.

Is the WRSC just for people who have graduate degrees? - PMD Vol.01 #002

Hey, I made it back this weekend!

Do "eggheads" have the only stuff to say out there?

Obviously not, with all the talk radio sessions that people tune in to.

Is any of that talk good - for either you or me? Sometimes.

Who do you look to to get the best information? The "Media" (i.e. radio and television)?

Who's paying for that?

How about the Internet? Surely YouTube.com and Facebook.com have their detractors, and their advocates.

Do you listen to what your local newspaper editor writes?

How do you compare that to what is said by TV "pundits" - the talking head analysts?

What Do We Want To Do With The WRSC? - PMD Daily Vol.01 #001

In case you haven't noticed, there hasn't been a lot of traffic on this blog recently.

In fact, there's been none for months!

I am changing this.

I'm starting today.

These blogs are real, available, free to use to tell the world that there is a different way to do things.

I am telling my entire network that we do have the technology to make a difference in this world - today!

We can choose to do things a different way.
