Step 1:

Each application shall provide the following information and one of the founding members shall meet with the GENI Board before proceeding to Step 2

 

Founding Members Biography

A background biography of each of the founding members that want to establish the SimCenter.  A minimum of 3 founding members are required to establish a SimCenter.

 

Motivational Letter

A one page motivational letter is required, describing the specific motivations and desired outcomes that the applicant organization has in applying for a SimCenter license.  The motivational letter is utilized by the Board of Directors to determine if the motivations of the applicant match with the mission and values of the World Resources Simulation Center and its parent organization, the Global Energy Network Institute.

 

Preliminary SimCenter Setup Timeline

Provide a preliminary milestone timeline and description on the following topics;

  • Formation of personnel team
  • Funding sources
  • Facilities plans
  • Equipment requirements
  • IT infrastructure
  • Targeted launch date

After the GENI Board has met with and a preliminary approval is granted to the founding member, the formal application shall proceed with the provision of the following information:

 

Step 2:

Operational Plans

A detailed but concise operational plan, to include operating schedule, key users and uses of  the  facility,  proposed  marketing  programs  is  required  as  an  attachment  to  this application in order to aid the Board of Directors in determining the feasibility of the applicant in establishing a successful SimCenter as well as determine support that may be offered to the applicant.

 

Facility Plans

A detailed but concise facility plan, to include a proposed location, equipment, IT support and all associate costs is required as an attachment to this application in order to aid the Board of Directors in determining the feasibility of the applicant in establishing a successful SimCenter as well as determine support that may be offered to the applicant.

 

Funding Plans

A detailed but concise funding plan, to include all estimated start up and operational costs paired with available financial resources, as well as the use of projected future revenues from SimCenter (if any) is required as an attachment to this application in order to aid the Board of Directors in determining the feasibility of the applicant in establishing a successful SimCenter as well as determine support that may be offered to the applicant.

 

Implementation Timeline

A detailed but concise implementation timeline that depicts that projected dates to achieve key milestones such as facility acquisition/renovation, equipment acquisition, full operational capacity, etc. is required as an attachment to this application in order to aid the Board of Directors in determining the feasibility of the applicant in establishing a successful SimCenter as well as determine support that may be offered to the applicant.

 

Letters of Support

A   minimum   of   three   letters   of   support   and   recommendation   from   appropriate governmental (e.g. minister of commerce), educational (e.g. university dean) and private (e.g. chamber of commerce) organizations endorsing the concept of a SimCenter project in the region/city. One of the three letters should be from a third party attesting to the viability of the Applicant and the project.

 

Financial Position

Provide your organization’s annual report and audited financial statements. In the absence of an annual report, please provide a statement of financial readiness to develop and operate a SimCenter.  Please submit a letter(s) from a relevant third party as evidence.

 

Payment and Instructions

Applications must be accompanied by a check of the appropriate amount based on the specific license type desired.  Checks should be made to the Global Energy Network Institute (GENI) and must be payable through a U.S. Bank in U.S. Dollars.  In the event that the application is denied, the applicant organization will be provided with a full refund.  If payment is not included with this application please attach a brief description regarding the circumstances of the payment.

 

Signatures

Prior to final  approval  of its  application, an applicant is prohibited from using GENI’s trademarks including, but not limited to, registering a company name, domain name, or email address that incorporates any of GENI’s trademarks. Unauthorized use of the GENI’s trademarks is grounds for denial of an application and may subject the unauthorized user to appropriate legal action by GENI.

GENI  reserves  the  right  to  verify  the  information  presented  by  the  applicant  in  this application by accessing third party services. By its signature(s) below, applicants attest to the accuracy of the information provided in connection with this application.  Applicants understand and agree that if the application is ultimately approved, and any material provided in this application is subsequently found to be false, GENI may rescind its approval or otherwise terminate the resultant license. Applicants further understand that, in the even that this application is approved, the applicant must enter into a license agreement with GENI and comply with the terms of this agreement, the constitution and by-laws of GENI, and the rules and regulations established, from time to time, by the GENI Board of Directors.
