Born in England and raised in Canada, Ms. Gardner was educated and trained in California in radio and television production. She has hosted a night entertainment show and was part of a morning radio team. In 1986, she founded a video, film and multi-media production company, known as Downtown Productions. As well, she co-founded and still operates a not-for-profit company, Earth Visions, to produce documentaries examining the social and environmental issues of her community. Her work has been on San Diego County Cable Television and the educational channels.

As an actress, Ms Gardner has been seen on the live stage, mainly in British drawing room comedies and farces with the Coronado Playhouse, most recently as Madame Arcati in Noel Coward’s “Blythe Spirit” for which she was nominated for an Aubrey Award for Lead in a Comedy.

As well, she is happily occupied with her southern California garden, reading, volunteering, travelling abroad with her husband, Peter and spending time with her two exceptional grandchildren, Maxwell and Shane.
